Major Research Interests:
• Causes of oral health disparities and interventions to eliminate oral health disparities
• Relationship of oral conditions to systemic disease and health-related quality of life
• Longitudinal studies of oral health in aging and the analysis of treatment outcomes in dentistry: The VA Dental Longitudinal Study and the VA Normative Aging Study

Studies encompass the areas of oral epidemiology, health services research, and health policy. The work involves a variety of population studies with a special interest on underserved populations.
