Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

As a pediatric dentist, I believe that in the crucial importance of health equity based approach to clinical care and clinical education. I believe that it is important to give back to the communities in which we are so fortunate to learn from, and for idea this to be instilled in the ethos of teaching clinics and teaching hospitals. I value the perspective that cultural competence can never be fully achieved, and believe that cultural humility is the best approach when treating a diverse and underserved population in order to provide compassionate and patient-centered care. I hope to help foster an inclusive and diverse environment for students within GSDM, as I believe that equity in access to dental care should be reflected in equity in educational access as well.
