Laure Deflube
Principal Research Scientist
Vertex Pharmaceuticals

As a Principal Research Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, She led projects designed to improve AAV-based gene therapy. With over 15 years of experience in molecular biology and cell biology, She have a strong background in engineering cell lines, developing and optimizing assays, and designing novel DNA plasmids and sequences. She have also worked on diverse research fields, including immuno oncology, cystic fibrosis, and RNA virus replication, demonstrating my ability to quickly acquire new knowledge and apply my technical skills to different therapeutic platforms.

She is self-motivated, passionate about science and learning, and she thrive in collaborative and cross-functional environments. She enjoys team work and vigorous scientific discussion, and she values the input and feedback of my colleagues and stakeholders. Working at Vertex has allowed her to grow her understanding of the industry, especially in regards to the complex manufacturing processes of gene and cell therapies. Her mission is to bring challenging projects to successful completion and contribute to the development of innovative and life-changing treatments.
