Dr. Jian Rong has a strong background in theoretical and applied statistics. She has extensive experiences on public health and medical research as a biostatistician. She has conducted numerous statistical analyses on clinical and genetic associations with inflammatory biomarkers; atrial fibrillation association with blood pressure, arterial tonometry and pulsatile hemodynamics; and SABRe microRNA profiling research. She wrote extensive programs and SAS macros on QC analysis, data management and cleaning. She has developed a suite of statistical tools for testing and modeling association between CVD or death outcomes and biomarkers or miRNAs adjusting for clinical risk factors. Dr. Rong has been the lead statistician for several clinical and genetic projects. She provides statistical support for medical fellows and the research team. She participates in writing and revising manuscripts for grant application and publication. She has been working closely with both U.S. researchers from BU and Harvard and international scholars. Her collaborative work with international scholars is effective and productive. Her diligent work results in more than a dozen co-authored papers in nationally and internationally recognized medical journals. She presented her work at the Joint Statistical Meeting as well as the Framingham Heart Study. Dr. Rong is a statistical reviewer for the medical journal Circulation. She is also the co-organizer of the Statistical Meeting at the Framingham Heart Study, where she organizes the meeting alternatively with another faculty member.
