Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

As an infectious diseases physician, I am committed to advancing health equity in my practice of medicine. My clinical practice focuses on addressing infectious diseases in marginalized populations, particularly migrant populations, LGBTQ+ patients, and other underrepresented groups, and working to assure equitable care is provided to these populations.

As a researcher, I am involved in clinical investigation on Chagas disease, which is a chronic parasitic infection endemic to many parts of Latin America and disproportionately affects migrant patients from endemic regions. My work seems to address key gaps in research and knowledge on this neglected tropical disease.

As a medical educator, I aim to foster career advancement and academic growth of under-represented groups in medicine and seek to train the next generation of physicians engaged in addressing issues of healthy equity.
