Anne Merewood, PhD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine and an Associate Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health. She is Affiliate Faculty at the BU Center on Forced Migration. Her primary research focus is health equity, breastfeeding, and public health. She directs CHEER (the Center for Health Equity, Education, and Research), and the international non profit organization, CHEERing, which works with refugees in greater Athens, Greece. She is the former Editor in Chief of the Journal of Human Lactation, a former long-time consultant for the DHHS Indian Health Service, and currently consults for the World Health Organization and UNICEF. She is a visiting Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia School of Medicine, Cyprus.
