Megan Janeway, MD, is Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine (CASM). After receiving her medical degree from CASM, she went to general surgery residency at Boston Medical Center (BMC). During residency, she spent two years focused on research examining the impact of socioeconomic factors on surgical outcomes. Dr. Janeway completed a fellowship in surgical critical care in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan in 2023 before being recruited back to BMC, where she is an attending surgeon in the section of Acute Care and Trauma Surgery. Dr. Janeway is cofounder of the Socially Responsible Surgery group at CASM/BMC, which was formed in 2014 and is now a national organization, with chapters across the country.
