Kate Twomey, MD is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Her academic interests include improving the care of vulnerable populations including underserved and minority communities, pregnant patients, and victims of violence as well as education, mentorship, and peer support. Her research centers on advocacy for physicians and surgeons with disabilities. Apart from her duties and responsibilities at BMC, Kate is also a member of various professional chapters across New England as well as nationally including Massachusetts Committee on Trauma, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, American College of Surgeons, amongst others.
