Marisol Figueira, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics in Infectious Diseases at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She worked as a physician in her native Venezuela for a number of years before completing a fellowship at Maxwell Finland Laboratory. A year later she joined Boston University as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. In this role she has established her own primarily Latino practice. Currently, she receives $478,501 in support from the NIH for the article "Single Antigen Strategy for Prevention of Recurrent and Chronic Suppurative Otitis." Her research interests are otitis media pathogenesis, prevention and treatment, streptococcus pneumoniae pathogenesis, haemophilus influenzae pathogenesis , and experimental otitis media models.
