Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

I was born in Israel in the midst of the Gulf War. My family fled to South Africa, a country with its own unique socioeconomic and racial challenges, where I grew up before coming to the USA for college and ultimately medical school. I am passionate about mentoring medical students and residents who are immigrants to the USA as well, and sharing our challenges. In my role on the interview committee, I have advocated that we interview and recruit candidates, regardless of their country of origin and their visa status. Clinically, I am passionate about taking care of the diverse BMC patient population in my roles as a general, pediatric and obstetric anesthesiologist. Finally, as Director of Quality and Safety, I oversee a variety of quality improvement projects. Along with this, we are committed to improving patient safety – for all of our patients.
