Leadership

I am a clinical faculty member in the Section of General Internal Medicine since 2007. I spend my professional time between clinical medicine (palliative care consultation in both inpatient and outpatient settings) and medical leadership, as the Director of the Palliative Medicine Service at Boston Medical Center. As part of my work, I spend time educating Boston University medical students and internal medicine residents. I also practiced both hospital medicine and palliative medicine at the same time for 20 years, before switching to full-time palliative medicine. I would be able to give some advice on career paths in hospital medicine, palliative medicine, or both, as well providing perspectives on work-life balance.
