Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

Background:
My medical school clinical training was at King’s County Hospital and affiliated public hospitals in Brooklyn, NY. Choosing to practice Family Medicine was in large part my reaction to the fragmented care that the financially poor, refugee, and immigrant patients were receiving. It has been a privilege to serve the health and social needs of the Codman Square (Dorchester/Roxbury/Mattapan) Community for over twenty-five years, as a physician and as a leader in the training of the future healthcare workforce. This beloved community and others like it would be best served by excellent comprehensive primary care providers who represent and are from the community members themselves. This belief is fundamental to the work I hope to support with my advocacy and academic efforts.
