Dr. Rachel Shing is an Emergency Medicine Physician and Assistant Professor with Boston University’s Chobanian & Avesdisian School of Medicine. Dr. Shing has fellowship training in Advanced Emergency Ultrasound and Global Health from Boston Medical Center, where she currently practices clinically. She has extensive experience teaching point of care ultrasound (POCUS) and has taught in Haiti, Ghana, Namibia and South Africa.

Dr. Shing’s research interests include POCUS in resource limited settings and using mobile technology to facilitate POCUS education. Her current research is focused on building local POCUS expertise in northern Namibia, using teleultrasound to provide remote bedside instruction, with the long-term goal of increasing patient access to diagnostic imaging.
