Kelly Halverson, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine.

She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Houston, completed a predoctoral internship at the Minneapolis VA Health Care System, and postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Florida.

Dr. Halverson’s research integrates cognitive neuroscience, learning disorders, and clinical neuropsychology across the lifespan. Her program of research spans neuropsychology, education, imaging, and neuroscience, with an emphasis on the neurocognitive mechanisms supporting typical and atypical learning, reading, and language development.

She is currently a staff neuropsychologist at VA Boston Healthcare System where she integrates research with clinical practice providing comprehensive neuropsychological assessment, diagnostic clarification, and evidence-based care for Veterans with complex cognitive, neurological, and psychiatric conditions. She supervises trainees in the clinical practicum, internship, and fellowship programs. Her clinical interests include aging and dementia, movement disorders, acquired cognitive impairment, and language and learning disorders.
