Jason Lofters, MBBS is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and a Hematology/Oncology fellow at Boston Medical Center. His clinical and academic focus is in classical hematology, with particular emphasis on sickle cell disease and hemoglobinopathies, as well as bleeding and thrombotic disorders.

Dr. Lofters received his medical degree from the University of the West Indies, where he graduated with distinction and multiple institutional honors. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Englewood Hospital/Hackensack University Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident and was recognized for excellence in leadership, clinical care, and medical education.

His research focuses on clinical and translational questions in sickle cell disease and red cell biology, including hemoglobin F regulation and predictors of severe disease. He has authored peer-reviewed publications and national abstracts, and his work has been recognized by the American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Lofters is actively engaged in medical education and has served as a clinical preceptor for medical students at Boston University. He is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society, International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
