Biology

I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate at Boston University, and am co-advised by Dr. Sean Mullen and Dr. Sarah Davies. My research combines computational and physiological tools to better understand the origin and maintenance of diversity across biological scales. I completed my Ph.D. in the Davies Marine Population Genomics Lab in 2023, where I leveraged multiple computational approaches, including transcriptomics, population genetics, metagenomics, and large-scale satellite-derived environmental data and connected these data with long-term laboratory experiments and whole-organism physiology to understand the implications of climate change on coral reef ecosystems. Before my Ph.D., I completed a M.Sc. in Biology at Old Dominion University in the Barshis Lab and a B.Sc. in Environmental Science at UNC Chapel Hill. My M.Sc. thesis focused on understanding adaptation of the temperate coral Astrangia poculata to distinct temperatures across the species’ range.
