Eftitan (Efi) Akam is an internal medicine and pediatrics hospitalist at Boston Medical Center. Her professional interests are at the intersection of health equity, climate change, and health policy. Dr. Akam focuses on understanding how institutional and governmental policies can lessen the effects of climate change on the health of marginalized communities. Dr. Akam received her BA from Harvard College, her MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, and her MPH from Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She completed her Med-Peds residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident. In 2023, Dr. Akam graduated from the Commonwealth Fund Fellowship in Minority Health Policy at Harvard University.
