Dr. Debashree Saxena is a Clinical Assistant Professor of General Dentistry at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BU-GSDM). She earned her Doctor of Science (DScD) in Oral Biology from BU-GSDM, where she was awarded the prestigious Spencer N. Frankl Scholarship. As part of her doctoral research, she worked on the diverse functions of
Lysyl Oxidase-Like 2 (LOXL2) in oral fibroproliferative processes.
She further advanced her clinical expertise by completing a two-year specialty program in Periodontology and Implantology at BU-GSDM. Driven by a strong commitment to both patient care and education, Dr. Saxena integrates her deep knowledge of periodontology and oral biology into her clinical practice.
Since joining the faculty in September 2016, she has been recognized for her excellence in clinical teaching, receiving the Outstanding Clinical Instructor Award on three occasions. Dr. Saxena remains actively engaged in the profession and regularly attends national meetings to stay abreast of the latest advancements in periodontology and implantology.
In addition to her full-time academic role where she is dedicated educator, Dr. Saxena also serves as a part-time periodontist at Whittier Street Health Center, where she strives to provide high-quality dental care to underserved communities
