Professor Mininger has taught across the curriculum, including Behavioral and Preventive Medicine, problem-based group facilitation, Clinical Medicine, and the development and coordination of interprofessional educational experiences.

Nationally, he contributes to the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) as a member of the PA Recruitment and Opportunity Mission Advancement Commission (PROMAC), focusing on increasing access to the PA profession and supporting diverse recruitment efforts. He also serves on the Medical Committee of the Chicago Marathon, applying his expertise to ensure safe and effective medical care for participants.

His academic and clinical interests include improving access to care, understanding the role of social networks in health, addressing healthcare disparities and outcomes, and advancing interdisciplinary innovations that leverage the Physician Assistant role to enhance equity, foster meaningful clinical relationships, and improve patient outcomes. His recent scholarship has explored the relationship between language and clinical practice.

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, Professor Mininger was a practicing social worker.
