Dr. Quamina founded Urban Eye MD Associates to provide unparalleled medical treatment, aesthetic procedures and excellent patient service in the Boston area. He has been providing eye care in the Greater Boston Area for over 32 years.

Dr. Quamina received his Bachelor of Science from Duquesne University and both a Master of Find Arts in Neurochemistry and Doctorate of Medicine Degrees from Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine in 1965 and 1966 respectively. Following completion of his degrees Dr. Quamina continued at Boston University Medical Center University Hospital for both his medical internship and his ophthalmology residency.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Quamina holds the title of Medical Director of the Ophthalmic Technology Program and Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Quamina is also holds an Adjunct Clinical Faculty appointment with the New England College of Optometry and is the consulting ophthalmologist for Dimock Community Health Center, Dorchester House Multiservice Center and South End Community Health Center. He is known for excellence in total eye care services, specializes in cataract surgery, glaucoma management he has been honored with New England Eye Institute’s Community Service Award and the recognition of outstanding ophthalmologists was named in his honor, the Benjamin A. Quamina Award, and on May 12, 2004, Mayor Menino dubbed it “Benjamin Quamina Day” in Boston.
