Amanda E. Piarulli MD, MBE is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of Endocrinolgy, Diabetes, Nutrition and Weight Management at the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine.
Dr. Piarulli completed her undergraduate degree in Science, Technology and Society at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also earned a Master of Bioethics. She went on to complete her medical education at Drexel University College of Medicine, followed by Internal Medicine residency and Endocrinology fellowship at Boston Medical Center. Dr. Piarulli further honed her expertise in obesity, nutrition, and metabolic disease through the fellowship in Nutrition and Metabolic Disease at Boston Medical Center.

Her clinical and research interests include advancing equitable and evidence-based treatment of diabetes and obesity. Her current research is focused on assessing the effect of legislative change on prescription patterns of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists and GLP-1/GIP co-agonists within the BMC Weight Management Center.
