Dr. Alanna Tisdale is a Neuro-Ophthalmologist and Comprehensive Ophthalmologist, working at Boston Medical Center and Boston University- affiliated eye clinics. She completed her fellowship training in Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa, the #7 Ophthalmology department in the country. While there, Dr. Tisdale was the recipient of the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology Fellow Teaching Award for medical student education. Dr. Tisdale completed her Ophthalmology residency at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center in 2020. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees, and Master of Public Health from Brown University, as a part of the PLME (Program in Liberal Education), a highly selective 8 year undergraduate-medical school combined program. As a medical student, she was one of 50 U.S. medical students selected to perform research at the NIH (National Institutes of Health) as a part of the Medical Research Scholars Program (MRSP), a one year research fellowship. While there, she worked with the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) team at the National Eye Institute. She is passionate about medical education, working with underserved communities, and promoting public health. In her free time, she enjoys photography and dance.
