Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility

As a physician scientist, I am dedicated to fostering diversity, equality, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) in both my clinical practice and research endeavors. My training at Boston Medical Center has illuminated the profound impact of chronic and systemic inequality on individual and population health. Aligned with the mission of Boston Medical Center, an academic safety net hospital, I am committed to providing exceptional care without exception. I strive to foster an inclusive clinical environment where all patients, providers, and families, especially those from marginalized populations, feel heard, valued, and respected. Through a lens of empathy and understanding, I aim to tailor my communication strategies and clinical care to meet the diverse needs of each patient, ensuring that language barriers, cultural differences, and socioeconomic factors do not impede access to high quality care. I approach my research with a commitment to creating a supportive atmosphere where all participants feel valued and empowered to thrive. I believe that through incorporating diverse perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds we can strengthen the impact and rigor of any investigation. Through prior and ongoing teaching and mentorship roles, I aim to support those interested in science / research, especially from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds in STEM. Additionally, I am focused on eliminating barriers to effective scientific communication and increasing accessibility of my research for all.
