Yanru Chen is a postdoctoral associate at the Center for Autism Research Excellence and an incoming research assistant professor at the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Boston University. She is also the project manager of a longitudinal, multi-site project on language development in minimally verbal autistic children. She received her Ph.D. in the Intellectual Disability and Autism program from Columbia University and has more than 10 years of experience working with autistic children and their families in both research and school settings. Her clinical expertise includes delivering gold-standard autism observational assessment as a trained and reliable ADOS clinician and providing naturalistic developmental behavioral interventions as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Her research focuses on executive function, language development, and social communication and engagement in autistic children using behavioral measures, electroencephalograph (EEG), parent and teacher reports, and large-scale data, aiming to promote social-emotional development and school success for autistic children.
