John B. Fournier, M.D. is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a Fellow of the American Acne and Rosacea Society. Dr. Fournier also works as an academic dermatologist in his hospital-based practice, where he teaches dermatology fellows and residents. He has been an invited speaker for the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA), and is a frequent presenter at national conferences (including giving multiple presentations in recent years at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology).

He has recently been appointed to a three-year term on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Case Reports. During his residency training, Dr. Fournier was selected to be a Chief Resident of dermatology. Dr. Fournier continues to teach dermatology fellows and dermatology residents in his hospital-based practice, though his Newton outpatient private practice clinic does not have dermatology fellows or residents in the clinic.
