Research Expertise & Professional Interests As a full-time faculty member of Boston University's Biomedical Forensic Sciences Graduate Program, I teach courses in Drug Chemistry, Forensic Toxicology and Instrumental Analysis in Forensic Laboratories. I also act as a research and thesis advisor to graduate students. My own research focuses on emerging issues related to forensic toxicology, including Novel Psychoactive Substances such as synthetic cathinones, synthetic piperazines, and the NBOMe compounds. I am interested in the identification, development and validation of analytical methods for the quantitation of these and other compounds impacting forensic toxicology and drug chemistry laboratories. In addition, I am very interested in the epidemiology of drug use and abuse.
