Pronouns: she/her/hers

Silke Tas is a postdoctoral Associate at the Department of Earth and Environment, where she works on the Lower Buzzards Bay Sedimentation and Goosberry Causeway Impact Study as part of the Coastal Lab and in collaboration with the Fagherazzi lab. She obtained her PhD from Delft University of Technology, studying chenier dynamics in the context of eroding mangrove-mud coasts. Her research combines field work and numerical modelling to improve understanding of complex coastal dynamics across a wide range of temporal and spatial scales. With her research, she hopes to contribute a little piece to the global puzzle of coastal protection, aiming towards a more sustainable, nature-based approach.
