Dr. Shawn Jin is a compassionate and diligent child and adolescent psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente with interests in harnessing technology and data to better lives of immigrant and refugee children and adolescents, as well as enhancing medical education. Currently he serves as a preceptor for third year medical students during their psychiatry rotations, as part of their year at Kaiser. He currently also is a faculty of the psychiatry residency at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center, where he supervises second year residents during their child psychiatry rotation. He also is the faculty lead and director for the sub-intership rotation program, selecting and offering sub-internship rotations in child psychiatry, adult IOP and consultation liaison psychiatry to students from all over the country. Additionally, he is a faculty member of the GMEC and PEC for the residency.

Prior to his role at Kaiser, he was a fellow in child and adolescent psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and Mclean Hospital. He completed his residency at Harvard South Shore Psychiatry Residency Program. He is a double alumni of Boston University, both at the Sargent College/Kilachand Honors College, as well as the Medical School.
