Oluchi Ekenze has over 20 years of well-rounded experience in clinical care, clinical research, and medical education within the healthcare industry, serving at various levels and in diverse capacities in health promotion and clinical research. She is deeply committed to advancing strategies for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

She has trained and mentored medical students and resident doctors in Nigeria, fostering the next generation of medical professionals. Her research interests focus on cerebral small vessel diseases and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, with a particular emphasis on identifying early markers of these conditions and understanding the impact of subclinical vascular brain injury.

With a strong background in Internal Medicine, General Neurology, and Clinical Research, Dr. Ekenze brings extensive competencies in patient care for neurological diseases, scientific data management, research proposal development, and statistical analysis using R. She has also served in multiple leadership capacities, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Her current research goals include exploring racial, ethnic, and sex-related differences in cerebral small vessel diseases and subclinical vascular brain injury to better inform equitable healthcare approaches.
