Mario Cabodi, PhD
Master Lecturer
Boston University College of Engineering
Biomedical Engineering

PhD, Cornell University

Mario Cabodi received an MSci degree in Physics from Imperial College in London and a Ph.D. in Physics from Cornell University, where he was also a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Engineering. At Cornell, he used micro- and nano-fluidics for analytical separations of biomolecules, and later developed active biomaterials, based on embedded microfluidic structures. He joined the joined the Boston University research faculty as Research Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in 2008. His research interests at BU focus on microfluidic sample preparation techniques to enhance the detection of analytes in biological fluids, and integrating plastic and paper-fluidic technologies with nucleic acid-based tests for point-of-care applications.
