Anatomy

Dr. Stamm is a faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology at University of Wisconsin- Madison, and she has a passion for teaching about the anatomy of the human body. She received her doctorate in Anatomy and Neurobiology from the Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine, where she gained extensive experience teaching gross anatomy and neuroanatomy to medical, dental, and graduate students. While at Boston University, Dr. Stamm conducted research under the mentorship of Dr. Robert Stern at the Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy Center and Dr. Martha Shenton at the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory at Harvard Medical School – Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She received an F31 Ruth L. Kircschstein National Research Service Award from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke to support her graduate research. Her work on the later-life consequences of incurring repeated hits to the head, particularly during critical periods of childhood brain development, has been published in high-impact journals. She has also published work on chronic traumatic encephalopathy, concussion management, and pressures on clinicians to prematurely return concussed athletes to play.
