Dr. Bhatia graduated from the Government Dental College in Bombay, India, and received his MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Government Dental College in Ahmedabad, India. He completed his clinical oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the Safdarjang Hospital, Ministry of Health, New Delhi, India. He then practiced for over 20 years in Africa and held various leadership positions, including the surgeon-in-chief of a major tertiary care hospital and surgeon to the President of Zambia. He moved to the USA in 2002 and since then, has been fully vested in predoctoral education and clinical education of first year OMFS residents. His current areas of interest include clinical teaching in dentoalveolar surgery, and treatment of medically compromised patients and didactic education with a focus on the topics of pain and anxiety control.
