Trained as a purpose-driven data scientist in brain health, Dr. Ding is dedicated to advancing inclusive translational research in Alzheimer's disease (AD) by leveraging statistical methods and machine learning techniques. His research focuses on exploring cognitive heterogeneity, investigating sex differences, improving early detection, designing digital cognitive assessment tools, and advancing digital phenotyping of cognitive impairments. As an investigator of Framingham Heart Study (FHS), his work encompasses a wide range of data related to AD, including voice recordings, digital clock drawing tests, both digital and traditional neuropsychological assessments, digital measures of sleep and physical activity, transcripts of semi-structured interview, MRI brain volumes, PET and blood biomarkers, and protein expression values. Besides FHS, he has expanded his AD-related research to include other large cohorts including UK Biobank, ROSMAP, and ADNI. These experiences have provided Dr. Ding with new perspectives for exploring AD-related clinical questions.
