Dr. Edan Wernik is a board-certified family physician with a background in bioengineering and biotechnology, earning his BS from UC San Diego in 2003 and his MD from UC Irvine School of Medicine in 2007. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Long Beach Memorial, where he served as Chief Resident and contributed to quality assurance, EMR implementation, and early literacy initiatives.

Dr. Wernik has held academic appointments at Stanford University, Boston University, and currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. He is also a core faculty member at the KP San Jose Family Medicine Residency Program, where he leads neurology and dermatology workshops for residents.

His contributions have been recognized with numerous honors, including Phi Beta Kappa, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and Kaiser Permanente’s Outstanding Primary Care Physician of the Year.

He holds an active California medical license and has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine since 2010.

Beyond clinical care, Dr. Wernik plays a key role in tobacco cessation efforts and documentation improvement at Kaiser Permanente. He is a long-standing member of professional organizations such as the AAFP, CAFP, and SCCMA.
