Danghan Xie, PhD
Postdoctoral Associate (previously held)
Boston University College of Arts and Sciences
Earth & Environment

Danghan Xie studies how tides and waves shape coastal systems. His research is oriented in two main directions: 1) the evolution of coastal mangrove ecosystems and 2) the changes in sediment transport processes. Particularly, he is interested in understanding the changes in coastal systems under the impacts of sea-level rise, storm waves and anthropogenic interference. His research is mainly based on numerical simulations, supported by field data and remote sensing. Currently, Danghan works on the Buzzards Bay project in conjunction with the Fagherazzi Lab and Fitzgerald Lab.
