Dr. Ament graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude in field and magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1997. She graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2002 and from the Harvard Ophthalmology Residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2006. She completed a cornea fellowship at Boston Medical Center and then joined the ophthalmology faculty at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and is Assistant Ophthalmology Program Director in charge of resident educational curriculum. She coordinates the resident didactic curriculum and board exam review. She has published over twenty-five original articles, presentations, and abstracts and edited a textbook on cataract surgery. She speaks Spanish, intermediate Portuguese and basic Haitian Creole. Her interests include medical education and immigrant health. She was on the board of Codman Square Health Center 2020-23 and serves on the Harvard Medical School Medical Education Committee.
