Carolyn Arnold is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, practicing clinically as a primary care physician at South Boston Community Health Center (SBCHC) and as a hospitalist at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Dr. Arnold earned her M.D. and M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University. There, she contributed to research in the Department of Pediatrics around barriers to asthma medication use among publicly insured patients and in the Department of Health Policy around the impact of housing assistance programs on health.

Dr. Arnold went on to complete residency and serve as Chief Resident at Boston University Family Medicine Residency. In addition to direct patient care, Carolyn is a clinical educator. She is a preceptor for family medicine residents in both the inpatient and outpatient setting and is the primary preceptor for BU CAMed third-year clerkship students at SBCHC. At SBCHC, Carolyn is also a lead provider in the Office-Based Addiction Treatment program and is active in clinic-wide quality improvement work.
