Dr. Alexander Dunlap is a research fellow at the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS) and a visiting research fellow in the Global Development Studies department at the University of Helsinki.

Dunlap has examined the political ecology of low-carbon technologies, extractive development, and police-military transformations in Mexico, Germany, Peru, France, Spain, and Portugal. Currently a co-editor at Human Geography, Dunlap is exploring the lifecycles of solar project development, from mining their raw material components, manufacturing parts, and operating projects until they are decommissioned.
