Aaron R. Dezube is a General and Acute Care Surgeon at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine.

Aaron received his undergraduate training at Emory University followed by medical school at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed a general surgery residency at St. Elizabeths Medical Center a teaching affiliate of Boston University Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. Aaron also completed a two-year research fellowship when he served as the Jack Mitchell Thoracic Surgical Oncology fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School focusing on thoracic surgery outcomes, thoracic surgery in older adults in coalition with the division of aging, and diversity research.

Aaron R. Dezube is the author of over 30 peer-reviewed publications and has given national and international presentations at conferences all around the world. His current focus is on outcomes after thoracic surgery as well as robotic surgery utilization for lung cancer. Aaron has a passion for teaching both the residents and students as well as serving as a mentor which was reinforced during his time as educational chief resident during his surgical residency. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American Medical Association, and the Massachusetts Medical Association. Aaron hopes to remain active as both an academic clinical surgeon and a clinical researcher.
