The overarching goal of my research program is to understand the molecular basis of paramyxovirus pathogenesis and attenuation with a view to translating this knowledge into the development and delivery of safe and efficacious vectored vaccines. I have over fifteen years experience as a molecular virologist and I and my laboratory have developed reverse genetics systems for both positive and negative strand RNA viruses. Currently my group focuses on respiratory paramyxoviruses.
