Dr. Aswad has been practicing ophthalmology locally since completing his residency and fellowship at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. A corneal specialist, Dr. Aswad also practices as a general ophthalmologist to patients of many age groups. In addition to corneal disease, Dr. Aswad has a special interest in external disease and cataract surgery, including Femtosecond laser surgery, and multifocal and toric premium implants operating primarily at Surgisite Boston, an ambulatory surgery center in Waltham, MA.
He has been actively involved in teaching ophthalmology residents from Boston University and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at the Veterans’ Administration in Jamaica Plain. For several years, Dr. Aswad served as Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, MA. Dr. Aswad was the recipient of “Best Fellow Presentation” by the Castroviejo Society and was named twice the “Best Surgical instructor” by the graduating Boston University medical resident students.

Dr. Aswad is currently on staff at Steward Norwood Hospital, Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham.

Fluent in Arabic and French, Dr. Aswad is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. Dr. Aswad completed his medical degree, his internship and his first Ophthalmology residency at the American University of Beirut Medical Center, Lebanon.
