Dr. Lara Batey serves as the director of the medical education committee for the pediatric hospitalists at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. She is also involved in precepting attending providing supervision and clinical teaching to BU medical students in the pediatric clerkship at South Shore Hospital, and provides didactic teaching to the students, with recent topics including hyperbilirubinemia, preseptal cellulitis and management of status asthmaticus. She directs a remote education curriculum pilot program to teach pediatric residents in Liberia targeted topics required for their board training. Batey is a member of the leadership team of the Community Pediatric Hospital Medicine Sub-committee American Academy of Pediatrics; Section on Hospital Medicine.
