Research activities in the Panek Group emphasize the area of synthetic organic chemistry, in particular the induction of chirality. The problems under study reflect their general interest in the synthesis of new reagents and development of new reaction methods. Ongoing studies in the area of natural product synthesis generate a complementary research effort. In the synthesis of complex organic molecules, new research methods are employed or developed to carry out the defined objectives. They are also affiliated with the Center for Molecular Discovery.
