Along with comprehensive ophthalmology, Dr. Ament’s areas of interest include cataract surgery and medical/laser management of glaucoma. Dr. Ament graduated Magna cum laude from Harvard College. She graduated from Harvard Medical School and from the Harvard Ophthalmology Residency at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. She completed a cornea fellowship at Boston Medical Center and then joined the ophthalmology faculty at Chobanian and Avedisian School of Medicine. She continues to serve as volunteer faculty at Boston University and Boston Medical Center. She also serves on the faculty of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Skills Course on Advanced Refractive Cataract Surgery and Anterior Segment Reconstruction. She has published over twenty-five original articles, presentations, and abstracts and edited a textbook on cataract surgery. She presently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
